Understanding Emotes in Once Human: a Detailed Guide
Playing Once Human is a unique experience that goes beyond clashes and victories. Interaction is key to having a more engaging gameplay experience, and one of the primary forms of interaction is through emotes. However, the ability to use emotes isn’t available from the beginning—you need to unlock it first. Even after unlocking, emoting can be a bit complex. Thus, this guide exists to take you through the steps of how to emote flawlessly in Once Human.
Unlocking Emotes
In Once Human, you don’t immediately gain the ability to emote. Before you can use emotes, you first need to complete the key main mission called 'The Eve of Evolution'. This mission allows you to unlock the crucial Cosmetics menu.
After the successful completion of this mission, the Cosmetics menu should be accessible. You can easily open this menu from your Inventory screen by pressing the 'I' key on your keyboard. This will lead you to the Expressions tab.
Using Emotes
Improvising emotes is straightforward once you access the Expressions tab. On your right, you should see an empty emote wheel. By simply clicking and dragging any expression on this wheel, you can perform the variety of emotes in-game.
While engrossed in your game, you can press and hold the 'X' key to review your emote wheel. Then, you can select the most suitable emote for your immediate scenario. Once you have chosen, release the 'X' key, and the game performs that action, highlighting your chosen emote.
Keeping Patience
Remember, the process to unlock emotes can feel a bit tedious, as it requires some grinding. Patience is key to a worthwhile gaming experience. Do not rush through the game with the sole purpose of unlocking emotes. Make it a point to take your time, learn the basic mechanics, and enhance gameplay efficiency. It is important to lay down a decent base before you step into more advanced aspects like emoting.
