The recent Sakurajima update in Palworld added numerous intriguing elements to the game. Among them, the most striking addition has been the introduction of new weaponry, with the formidable Meteor Launcher being the strongest. This guide outlines the nuances and details of unlocking and using this powerful weapon in your Palworld journey.

What Makes the Meteor Launcher Special?

With a base attack of 2,000, the Meteor Launcher is the best weapon you can obtain, until you unlock the Laser Rifle, Grenade Launcher, and Guided Missile Launcher in the endgame. However, acquiring this weapon hinges on adept farming and a good understanding of RNG.

Unlocking the Meteor Launcher

To unlock the Meteor Launcher in Palworld, the first step is to reach level 37. Once achieved, the Meteor Launcher becomes available in the Technology Tree. More specifically, you can find this option under the Ancient Technology section. After unlocking it with three Ancient Technology Points, you're ready to start crafting it at a Weapon Assembly Line.

Crafting the Meteor Launcher and its Ammunition

To craft the Meteor Launcher, you will need 100 Meteorite Fragments, 30 Refined Ingot, and 20 Paldium Fragments. However, crafting its ammunition requires a bit more patience. Although the Technology Tree indicates the Meteor Launcher requires Gatling Gun Ammo, this information is not correct. The Meteor Launcher actually requires Meteorite Bullets as ammunition, which are also crafted at the Weapon Assembly Line. Each bullet needs two Meteorite Fragments.

Getting a Steady Supply of Meteorite Fragments

Given the need for Meteorite Fragments to craft both the Meteor Launcher and its bullets, ensuring a steady inflow of Meteorite Fragments becomes crucial. This is where the Meteorite events come into play.

We highly recommend having Xenovader in your party. Their Meteor Mania Partner skill increases damage dealt to Ores, making it easier to obtain Meteorite Fragments when they're in your team. This strategy will allow you to maximize the amount of Meteorite Fragments you earn from each Meteorite event, keeping you well supplied for crafting the Meteor Launcher and its ammo.
