Finding The Encrypted Vaults in The First Descendant

Encrypted Vaults can be found in various locations throughout the game, including an area called 'The Sterile Land Classified Area'. Here are some steps you can follow to locate these mysterious vaults:

1. Play the game and keep an eye out for a small square green hologram.
2. When you see this hologram, use your scanner. Rotate around and continue to trigger your scanner. Listen out for a new pinging sound, similar to sonar; this indicates there's a vault in that direction. Start traveling towards it.
3. As you continue moving, keep scanning. This sound will get louder as you get closer, allowing you to precisely locate the vault's location.
4. Ensure to check behind walls and dark corners. An Encrypted Vault looks like a robot statue, floating upright.

Please note that Vaults can still be found even if you don't have an Analyzer to open them, so it's recommended to check your consumables in your inventory.

Opening The Vaults

In order to open an Encrypted Vault, you'll need a Code Analyzer. This can either be a standard Code Analyzer, a Precision Code Analyzer, or an Ultra-Precision Code Analyzer. They are similar in function, however, the Precision Code Analyzer simplifies the mini-game, making it easier for you.

Upon commencement of inputting an Analyzer, a minigame will begin where you need to press a specific button when a line enters the highlighted zone. Be aware, this is a timed minigame. If you don't complete all the inputs before the timer runs out, you'll be booted out and lose the Analyzer.

Farming Code Analyzers in The First Descendant

All types of Code Analyzers can be found throughout the game. They are often rare drops from various kinds of missions and miniboss enemies. If you're looking to farm Code Analyzers more efficiently, consider repeatedly playing the mission 'Anticipated Ambush Point' or 'Large Nuclear Reactor' in The Sterile Land. These missions are relatively straightforward, quick to complete, and don't take long to unlock in the campaign.

Encrypted Vault Rewards

Upon successfully opening an Encrypted Vault, players are often rewarded with Negative Ion Particles. This rare resource is used to research the game's best characters. Occasionally, opening Vaults can also initiate auxiliary side quests.
