[Resource] The First Descendant: How Do You Use Fast Travel?

Recommended Posts

Understanding Fast Travel in The First Descendant

When it comes to large-map games such as The First Descendant, mastering the fast travel system is crucial. This will enable you to navigate through different regions for mission objectives and side missions efficiently or to grind materials to unlock new characters. This short tutorial will guide you on how to perform a fast travel in this game.

Procedure for Fast Travel

  1. Open your game map.
  2. Navigate to the region you aim to travel to.
  3. Place your cursor over the Fast Travel point.
  4. Finally, press and hold the Interact button. For keyboard use 'E', for Xbox 'A', and for PlayStation 'X'.

About Fast Travel Points

Fast Travel points on each map are shown as green circles. As you pass through these areas, they become unlocked allowing you to easily return at a later time. The reasons for wanting to return to an area vary - for instance, you may wish to farm a weapon. Side mission icons inform of their respective drops upon hovering. This makes it easier to identify what to fast travel for and determine the nearest point to accomplish those tasks. Therefore, fast travel points save time when farming a specific gun or material.

Fast Travel across different sections

The map of The First Descendant is divided into several sections. To navigate these, you need to access the World Map, which can be achieved by hitting 'G' on the PC, the touchpad on PlayStation, or the View button on Xbox when in the map menu. Clicking on one of the smaller regions will display all available Fast Travel points.

Final Remarks

Understanding fast travel is just the beginning of enjoying The First Descendant game. As you progress, be sure to explore how to rank up your Mastery, destroy Void Fragments, acquire Caliber, and open Encrypted Vaults.
